Frequently asked questions

  • I update my shop every few months - I regularly update Instagram with new drop dates. I make pottery in my spare time around a full time job, so I have restricted making time. As such, there are limited numbers of pieces in each update.

  • I do! Every piece in my shop is handmade from start to finish by yours truly. I prepare the clay; shape it on the pottery wheel; decorate each piece; create, mix and apply the glazes, and load the kiln, all from a tiny studio in North Yorkshire (UK).

  • Yes, my pottery is dishwasher safe. However, handwashing is recommended (and much kinder to handmade ceramics!)

  • My pottery is high fired and vitrified, therefore should be suitable for use in a microwave. Please exercise caution, however, as I am unable to test my pieces in a variety of microwaves. Please note: your pottery is not suitable for oven use.

  • Yes. My glazes do not contain regulated materials such as lead or cadmium. I’ve completed two in depth courses with the industry-renowned Ceramics Materials Workshop to enable me to formulate my own durable glaze recipes.

  • Yes. Please visit this page for more details or email hello@victoriaandfinch to discuss.

  • Please allow up to seven working days for your parcel to arrive in the UK, or 21 working days for international packages. If your item still hasn’t arrived, please get in touch and I will look into it for you.

If your item arrives damaged or broken, please take photographs of the box and pottery item and send them to hello@victoriaandfinch.co.uk.

  • Seconds are still functional, but might have small defects - for example, patchy glaze on exterior surfaces, tiny hairline cracks or warping. Hand washing is recommended.

Samples are perfect but don’t fit my usual range. They might be a different size to usual or even a different product altogether.

  • I source all packaging as responsibly as possible to reduce the impact of my business upon the environment. I use recyclable cardboard boxes, biodegradable packing peanuts, Kraft tissue/paper and paper ‘bubble wrap’ to package your order.

If you find any non-recyclable or plastic packaging in your order, please be assured it has been reused from parcels I have received. I never purchase brand new plastic packaging.

  • I ship to a number of countries internationally - you can find more details here. Please note that any import duties, taxes and/or fees incurred upon receipt of the item(s) are the responsibility of the buyer.

  • Yes! After each shop update or market, I total the number of orders placed and ‘plant’ trees through Ecologi. I plant one tree per order, rather than per item sold. You can view my current tree planting total here.
